Blowering Dam is conveniently located 15 minutes from Tumut NSW and regarded for having the LARGEST and toughest Murray Cod in the country.
Jimmy has spent more time on this impoundment Fly Fishing for trophy-sized Murray Cod than anyone else, pouring countless hours, night after night, week after week into developing an understanding of this elusive trophy fish and how to best present a fly to them with consistency.
Through this relentless approach, Jimmy’s results on Blowering Dam are a testament to his dedication & ability to learn a species and their traits in world little explored by fly fishermen.
Our newly launched vessel “In COD We Trust” has been custom-built for SVFF and specifically designed to target these impoundment giants. Fitted out with top-of-the-line Garmin Electronics and a thoughtful layout, it makes for a great platform to target these fish out of.
Fly fishing for these giant fish requires a high degree of dedication and is suited to the experienced fly caster.

Full day on the water (8hrs minimum) split into 2 sessions.
Session 1 - Sunset, familiarisation onboard with techniques, gear and casting 10wt rods.
Session 2 - Sunrise, continuing from the previous night’s session.
Inclusive of all equipment needed - Rod, Reel, Flies
Lunches, Snacks, Hot/ Cold Drinks.
